![]() Luckily I have a background in event production so what you've laid out was nice and clear. ![]() Thanks for the quick and detailed answer PCB. There are several options on triggering your laptop remotely as well. Hope that all makes ems a bit wordy but it's actually fairly simple.Īssuming you have a laptop the interface box is about $500 and you can get a cheap DMX dimmer pack for $100 (either dimmer or relay). So when you play the video, or the MP3 file you'll also get the corresponding lighting sequence triggered. You can put video or audio in the timeline and synchronize it with any lighting sequence you want. The software I use can be set up in a "timeline" mode much like a video editing program. There are others made by Elation, American DJ, Martin etc. It's called sweetlight box (google it) and actually you pay for the interface box.the software is downloaded for free. ![]() Your dimmer packs can dim or you can buy relay packs that are just on/off for nondimmable devices. You run the software on your laptop which communicates with you interface box which in turn controls your DMX dimmer packs. I use this setup all the time.Ĭomputer controlled DMX lighting. Actually this is an easy one although you'd have to make a bit of an investment. ![]()
